A simple technique for article writers who can't get started

If you want to write content for articles or a blog … but can’t get started, try this technique. It takes about 15 minutes. And helps you create articles people will want to read.

It’s a technique you can use when you need to create content but don’t have much time.

You can use it to quickly create 200-700 word articles – the kind the search engines love.

And the best part is, you don’t need to spend a lot of time researching your idea. You pretty much just sit down, pull out your keyboard, and get started.

So much for the warm up. Here are the steps:

1. Start by writing down your article idea. Then translate the idea into an article title. For this article my title is: “A simple technique for article writers who can’t get started”.

This first step probably sounds obvious. But bear with me. These simple steps can truly liberate your creative genius. Repeated use will help you crank out more content in a day that you previously could in a month.

Here’s step two:

2. Write an opening sentence or paragraph that elaborates on the article title or headline.

Sounds simple enough, right? After all, if your title or headline gets your readers attention … then … they are going to want to know more about the topic you just introduced. Your job is to give them what they want.

A good format for this opening sentence is the “if, then” construction. This is where you take the problem your intended reader might be facing and you simply say that if you have “X” problem … then, here’s a solution. This opening sentence gives you the opportunity to just blurt out (on paper) whatever is on your mind in relation to the topic.

3. Write a few sentences elaborating on what the solution will mean to the reader. Tell the reader how their life will be better when they use your solution.

This is technically called “the readership sale” and is a secret professional writers use to lock the readers eyes to the page. Basically you are saying, if you keep reading … if you use what I’m telling you about … you can’t lose. So read on and here’s how your life will be better. You’ll look better … or feel better … or have more spare time … or more money … and so on.

4. Provide content in the form of a numbered list. This is where you deliver on the promise of your article title. This is the body of your article.

Because people are generally lazy, the best way to deliver the “meet” of your content is by using a numbered or bulleted list – just like I have here.

Another good reason to use a numbered list is so you can use the number in your article title. Such as “6 Super-easy steps for cranking out hot articles in 15 minutes or less!”

5. Elaborate on the point made in the numbered or bulleted list. OK. What do I mean by this? Actually, it’s what I’m doing right now. I made a statement, in this case I said: “elaborate on the point you just made in the numbered or bulleted list”, and now I’m giving more information about it. See how easy this is? You do? Good.

Here’s the final step.

6. Suggest the next step. Let’s face it, if you’ve done a good job of getting your point across, your reader is going to be happy and want to take some action as a result.

As an example, if this article has helped you or made you curious about what other ideas I might have … then … you’re probably going to want to know more about me. So what do I do? Simple. I include a byline at the bottom of my article. Or a link you can click to find out more or take the next step.
