Writing Online: Figure Out What Your Content And Blog Titles Are Worth

Posted: 18 Sep 2010 02:32 PM PDT

If you don't know it by now, our titles are worth something!

If we're going to ever figure out how to make money through our online writing, we need every advantage we can get. Have you noticed how some of your titles have made more money than others? You need to go check, and be very aware of this! I've written a few articles on Triond over the years, that have scored an average of $.30 per 10 reads! For some titles, I've gotten a disappointing $.01 for 20 reads. When that happens, it's a very hard pill to swallow, because of the detail of the content, the quality, and the time I've devoted to it. But, luckily all of those pennies add up.

In my quest for Millions, I've gone through all of my content with my various publishers, and I've taken note as to my "hot titles," as far as earnings go. You may also think of this as keywords, and you mustn't forget about adding the "proper tags" to your content. Basically, if you find those keywords for your titles, and tag your content properly, you'll see an increase in your earnings, and hopefully a big difference. So, I've made a list of those hot paying titles, and I've decided to make sure that when I'm brainstorming new ideas, those titles are going to be similar. I suggest you do the same, so that you're giving yourself the best chance to increase your earnings as possible.

Writing On or For Web is more than a creative job

Posted: 18 Sep 2010 05:23 AM PDT

Sometimes Web-Content writing is not as creative as it may appear to you. Though, the inspiration and motivation is always there, especially during early years of your first job assignments. But, count on the chickens before they hatch. Take a gasp and go by the reality. It's you only who can make such long-life writing habit a real charm, not the Web industry or the clients you are working for.content writing

In fact, most of the candidates from mass communication or journalism stream have a definite reason to explore this world of fantasy. And why not, you have got a platform to air your voice and views. And every article you write is going to carry your identity as an editor, correspondent, a freelancer or so and so. Readers identify you with great regards that awakens you to write another piece of story.

Well, on web the scenario is entirely different. Typically for a Search Engine Marketing company or other online publishing organization (not for in-house job), this concept of creativity and freshness have a separate angle of view, much different from Newspaper editor or magazine author.

I am enthusiastic about discussing on how a web copywriter or content writer copes up with his or her regular job schedule. How much struggle or effort they are putting in to come up with something NEW that attracts people. NEW does not signify News here.

It's just to take you to the different world of creativity, yes- Web content writing needs patience and seasoning formula than just covering news. Covering news for fresh stories as information base is different from developing user-friendly article to target the millions of readers.

What makes the web-content writers competent to their multifaceted tasks? What gives them the energy boost to tame the web-audience? Follow my next article to be updated recently.

The problem is particularly frustrating to explain because it's not necessarily obvious; if you store everything on your Web site as a news article, the Web site is not necessarily hard to use. Rather, it's a problem of lost opportunity. If all of your information is stored in the same "news article" bucket, you can't easily pull out just the crimes and plot them on a map of the city. You can't easily grab the events to create an event calendar. You end up settling on the least common denominator: a Web site that knows how to display one type of content, a big blob of text. That Web site cannot do the cool things that readers are beginning to expect.

Copyblogger Weekly Wrap: Week of September 12, 2010

Nope, I didn’t get fired. I’m back in the saddle around here, ready to summarize things for you and put them into an easily digestible, bullet point form.

So why the layoff on the weekly wraps (now twice as delish with half the calories)? Well, it was summer. Brian and Sonia wanted a break from removing libelous statements from my scribblings, and I wanted time to pursue my hobby of reworking large companies’ marketing slogans.

For example: BP: Well, at least you know who we are now.

No? Okay, fine… here’s what happened this week on Copyblogger and around the web:
