It’s Sunday afternoon and for some reason I have decided to do some article writing. Not because I love it and want to do it at the weekend but because I do not have much else to do and thought why not get a head start for the week ahead. This can sometimes have good results and I can just breeze through them but sometimes you are not in the ‘article writing mood’ and so writing one article can be slow, hard and painful.

Ok I am probably being a little dramatic here but I guess I just needed a little rant so I can get it out of my system and finish one more article off! Also I have not done anything this weekend but get into reading blogs, posts, forums and Whiteboard Friday videos on seo and copy writing topics. this isn’t a big deal as next week I am joining the gym which will be great for me to get fit again. Also I have found that over the years my best commercial thinking comes at the gym – I don’t know why this is but I just seem to be able to workout and think about business and things more clearly there.

Whats not helping me and my content writing today is the diabolical temperature that my room is, it is freezing! I have one of these great rooms that stores the heat in the summer but is awful at heat retention in the winter. Again I think I just need to rant a little bit about it so I can move on. Blogs are quite good for that it seems. You can kind of mix personal rants and work nicely together.

In terms of my progress with my own website I have been refining the front page and making sure all the links are quality and simple. I know it isn’t the best design by a long shot but this whole project at this stage is just about good content and good links. To be honest I am having a great time with it all and I have definitely been bitten by the buzz of doing something and then seeing the effects the have on Google. It is early days yet but I am really enjoying myself with it all.

Yesterday I submitted my website into a few good directories for new businesses which is great and already they are showing up on Google and today I am going to do the same. I think I will submit to around ten directories this month and let Google Index my website before I do too much. Next I will improve the website and get all the content on all pages updated thoroughly and perhaps increase the amount of content on the index page to make it as content rich as possible.

The two keywords I expect to have the most success with in the short-term are copywriter services and content writing as these are the least competitive. I would like to think I will be ranking well for these by Christmas and then by February / March I will be in the top eight for both these terms.

The other terms affordable seo and copywriter will be much harder because they are more competitive, however I think if I keep this blog updated daily, get a blog active daily on my website, keep a gradual link building campaign going each month and submit an estimated twenty articles each month to a variety of article sites – then I think I could have some good joy with the core terms.

Time will tell, anyway…I am freezing and so am going to make yet another cup of earls grey tea to try to warm me up some more.
