Owning, running and maintaining an Internet based business needs articles. That's the undeniable fact — every entrepreneur knows that. Articles quench the thirst for information and knowledge of the people. But articles also provide many other benefits to your business.
High page rankings in search results are due to articles rich in keywords and keyword phrases that are relevant to any person's website. Articles also provide attraction to your visitors when they are acknowledged and linked from another site or newsletter. Articles provide for the increase of confidence and trust levels of your customers.
When a reader likes your articles they tell more of their friends and peers and recommend your website to them, providing you with a larger volume of traffic. More traffic equals more sales and it is easier to sell to them when they know you and trust the products you sell.
So okay – we have established that article writing is very important to your business. They are crucial to keeping ahead of your competition. A site must have an article… that much is imperative; content is king. The dilemma is not many people like writing articles.
Many website owners would rather spend their time in other directions, but unless you are a big time company you don't have the resources to use on a pool of article writers. Plagiarism or copying of other articles is frowned upon and could easily get you into trouble – worst case scenario is a hefty fine and jail time. Is there another option?
There are free articles in the public domain. Here you will not have problems with copyright infringement and penalties when using them. Public domain articles are articles freely given to the public for public use. You can do whatever you want with them. You can place them on your site, name it as your own, put it in a newsletter – it's your decision. But do remember this: choose ONLY articles that are very relevant to your website and don't use articles with outdated strategies
Downside: yes, sorry to say there is some downside but I wouldn't be honest if I didn't give you all the facts. Public domain articles are free – for everybody – therefore many of your competitors may have access to them as well. Since every site needs to be original and unique even in the same niche, this could be a predicament. Plus they always need editing for grammar and spelling. More keywords and keyword phrases may also have to be added. At best, you must re-write them.
Another choice is in Article Submission website. They are numerous and when you find your subject material with plenty of keywords you are free to print them on your website but with the author's signature box intact. Many of the writers are your competitors because they write about YOUR products. When someone reads a good article it is hoped that they click on the link in the sig-box. Do you really want to send your visitor to the competition just because you hate writing articles yourself?
There are also many article writers who earn part time, freelance article writing tasks; generally through an employment website. Problem here is that the writers get the smallest portion of the price someone pays for this service. Good writers have to submit near one hundred before they are paid a better deal. Very discouraging unless one is desperate for $1.50/per 400+ words while the buyer has paid $20 for that article.
Original articles of course are the best investment… if you can put your own name to them and know that they are 1-of-a-kind, keyword rich, copyright given to you as author, this is the best solution. Yet, a contract with a single author that you have read over and over and approve of his/her creative writing – well that would be second best, right?After all, you outsource traffic, search engine optimization, advertisements, and auto-responder – all of which is necessary for your entrepreneurial business to profit. Why not read a good author and outsource this too?
