I mix historical fact with contemporary fiction. It's hard to explain it to a publisher, though. [I'll say], "People frozen in Crimean War are coming back to life and there's a vampire involved," and the publisher kind of looks at you – it's hard to explain these books, because it's all in the doing of it.

Content Is The First And foremost off any new site!

Posted: 10 Sep 2010 08:28 AM PDT

The web is full of thousands, millions of sites, the count of blogs may even be greater in number. And that number will only get bigger! The question to ask your selfe is: What makes people whant to read your site?

  1. You, Only you:It’s all about you. When writing an article or what ever you decided to write about, make sure it’s directed to the person reading it. No one cares about what the you thinks, they want to get the job done. You don’t care about them. Make sure you don’t use words like “we, us, I” and use “you.” It keeps the article or post personal.
  2. Grammar: Keep the grammar casual, but still good. Do you want to read through a mess of spelling errors and try to figure out what the author is saying? No, of course you don’t. That’s something realy easy to forget and the answer is: No one does! So make sure to Spell check it, grammar check it, read over it again and again, to make sure your readers can understand exactly what you are writing. Examples:
  3. When someone reads your article, they usually want to see some proof about what the author is talking about. If the article is a tutorial, you would want to see the result before you spend time on it right? So put it at the beginning, is best. Wy? Well you don’t want to have to scroll all the way down to see what the final outcome of all your work is to decide you don’t like it. Put your examples at the top to show your readers what it’s all about.
  4. Keep It Casual: Make sure your readers don’t get bored. If you’re writing long article ore posts, make it fun for them to read. You don’t want to read an article straight from a music journal (unless it is a music journal), and even then it should still be casual. I’ve seen some music articles that are interesting because of how it’s written.
  5. Originality: Put a little pasion and spin on your articles. Make them in your own style and your originality will shine threw. It’s cliche, yes, but do it! No one wants to read the same thing over and over. You know if you’ve been somewhat guilty of that, but I think some rule breaking are OK. Like talking about what I think here. Is an example. Refer to #1.
  6. Bold Words: Bold words always help you to get some structure. So do lists, links, and quotes. Readers like you can skim threw your post for the bold words, and find what they want. It’s perfect for them. Saves your readers time, and gets to the point.

Conclusion

Always make sure to have an awesome conclusion, that wraps the post up nicely. You always want to see that whole work of art brought together with a nice summation. So if they want to skip that boring article you wrote because they didn’t pay attention, you can hope they’ll read that nice summarized conclusion. Like this: Make the article personal, use lots of examples and styled text to make the article easier for the user, watch your grammar, and make the article your own and have fun with it!
